Tour de dreams - about the best 5 days of my life...

So i already posted about the Argentina-Germany match in Frankfurt (that would be day 1). This was part of my 5-day holiday tour around Germany. I swear, those were seriously the best holiday i have ever had in my entire life. 1900 km 2 countries 8 cities 100 incredible moments and memories 1 moment of a lifetime

Day 2: After driving back to Erfurt in the very early morning, i caught no more than 4 hours of sleep and even had to go to the dentist in the morning. However, as soon as i walked out i was in holiday mood. I went home and was wondering what to do now. I knew I'd have to be in Freiburg (about 5 hours by car , in the very south of Germany) in the early morning the next day. So i spontaneously had an idea... why not already go to Heidelberg? I booked a hotel room and 3 hours later i found myself in Bammental, a ville next to the city of Heidelberg. It was lovely there. Quite, surrounded by forests and hills, beautiful, friendly. I enjoyed being on my own, in the most peaceful mood ever. Especially the evening was lovely. Just lying on my supersize bed, eating Italian take away food, watching a simpsons episode :)

Day 3: After a looong and pleasent sleep i instantly started up driving to Freiburg, picking up my friend Christiane , whome i have never met before. At least not in real life, but we got to know each other in 2010, reading each others stories - that is something i did not mention yet. I write stories. It is my most passionate hobby. She came all the way from Hannover, which is really far aways from Freiburg, just like Erfurt. We had the greatest time ever in Freiburg which i now consider as the most beautiful city of Germany. Not only is it beautiful in its looks but also in its mentality. The people of Freiburg - oh how very relaxed they are! You seriously never see anyone not looking happy or smiling. So many people started talking to us - in their very lovely accent :-) We had a nice quite evening in the city, also meeting her friend and went to bed not so late because Christiane and I were both kind of wrecked :)

Day 4: This day was insane. It actually was the best day of my entire life. We planned to drive to Schönau, which is located in the black forest, but wanted to go shoe shopping before doing so. So, in the morning we went shopping and - as always - gossiped about our hero - Joachim Löw, coach of the German national football team. We both have a serious crush on him and if it wasnt for him we would actually not even know each other...true story. As we went back to the hotel we looked up and could not believe our own eyes. There, walking towards us, was mister Löw himself. We knew he lives in Freiburg but we never even thought about randomly seeing him there! Not even for a second! But there he was! Whilst Christiane totally lost her nerves i recollected mine and took her hand. All i said was " i know." I took her hand, turned around and we'd follow him. I grabbed my camera and called "Mister Löw?" He instantly turned around and i asked for a picture. He was polite enough to say yes although he was with a friend of his and although we were disturbing his leisure time. Christiane and I are still talking about that one random meeting and we will probably still be doing so in 50 years... Afterwards we finally went to the black forest, 45 minutes from Freiburg. Actually, we got lost on the way and even spend 1 or 2 minutes in France :D But when we were driving through the black forest i was just stunned by the beautiful nature. The air was hot, sun was shining, Amy MacDonald CD on, windows down and we were just driving up these tiny roads on the mountain. It was so beautiful that i ended up in tears of happiness. Back in Freiburg we had a lovely dinner and romantacized about that beautiful day.

Day 5: Was pretty relaxing. We were spending the last day in the city, climbed up the cathedral stairs up to the top and spend most of the time in the so called "Bächle", tiny water streams that float all over the old city centre, where you can just relax in the sun and cool your feet. In the evening i had to say goodbye to Christiane at the station - we were both in tears - and afterwards i met another friend of mine to get to France. This may sound weird but it isn't as the French region "Alsace" is only 40 minutes by car from Freiburg. I stayed in lovely Kaysersberg with my Couchsurfer who was really nice :-) Kaysersberg is an incredibly old and beautiful town. At night, the 3 of us climbed up the castle which is located on a hill above the town. I sat on top, all alone, summer wind in my hair , staring at the city lights which were "dancing" in the summer heat. The next day, my friend and i were sightseeing Colmar and then i went back all the 600 kilometres to Erfurt -by car.

I still think Freiburg is the most beautiful place i have ever been to and i want to go back - not as a tourist but to live there. Give me two or three years and i swear i will be living down there ;) For now - enjoy the pictures and the most horrible video i ever created. I really didn't put much effort in it - i was too lazy :D sorryyyy ..but it shows some really nice moments like the last part of the video..you can see how our hands were shaking after meeting Jogi Löw

Germany - Argentina

National Anthem Germany @ Germany - Argentina 15th August 2012 from Unbilo ontherun on Vimeo.

I made one my biggest dreams come true. Again. This is definately the summer of realized dreams for me :-) Since I am 12 I aaaalways wanted to see the German team play live. Now I did! My friend and I went to Frankfurt by car to see the friendship match between Germany and Argentina. And although we lost, it was one of the very best experiences of my life. I cannot describe the athmosphere. After a first glance into the arena Karsten and I quickly turned around - because it took our breath away! It really left me breathless. There is no such feeling like 50.000 voices singing the national anthem :-) And another very personal wish came true: i finally got to see Mister Joachim Loew and his assistant trainer live with my own two eyes... complete happiness overload. PS: i already got a new ticket... for a Germany match that will take place in 3 weeks. My life is complete (no joke - it really is. Thank you universe)

I am currently on vacation in Freiburg and will come up with an extremely exciting post quite soon...

Illuminations - Festival of Lights

The "Festival of Lights" is taking place every August in Erfurt, for one night only. You get the best of illuminations, light shows, music, food and weird creatures there. It's always worth a visit so this time i went there with a friend to take some nice pictures and just enjoy the lovely athmosphere which hopefully gets through to you with the help the pictures i took :-)

Introducing: Laura Hayden

Photobucket

Laura. I first recognized Laura Haydens blog ( www.horaconfessions.com ) in 2009, when she started up a blog about working as a model in Japan, where she was living for a few months back then. The blog somehow evolved to what i would like to call a "fashion and lifestyle" magazine, yes, I'd call it magazine. Because it never gets boring, you can't wait for another post by her and as time went by I just couldn't deny how much i admire this girl for what she achieved in her life. Being quite young she made it from a "common model" to a model who works together with companies like Harpers Bazaar, Vogue or Glamour. She even worked for MTV Spain and was one of the presenters at the European Music Awards 2011. Ever since i read the blog, she is one of my greatest idols and role models. Just today i have realized how much she actually affected my own lifestyle. It is incredible how i turned from being quite pessimistic and sort of shy to one of the most cheerful and freest persons ever. I work on achieving my dreams, i fulfill most of them and i do not have fear anymore. Besides, I found my own fashion style and i just enjoy life to the fullest now. I think it was also highly Lauras contribution - and she doesn't even know it (yet..) Thank you, Laura Hayden. ;)

This is the Life! - Meet Amy MacDonald

Photobucket

I first heard "This is the life" by Amy MacDonald in 2007, i found the single on youtube and instantly send a message to my friend Peter which said: LISTEN TO THIS GIRL...she will be famous! ... i was right. From the first moment i heard the song i knew i'd become a big fan of hers. I bought all her albums and i know like 90% of her lyrics by heart. So when seeing she would come to Fulda i knew i just had to go there. Fulda is close to where i live, 1 1/2 hours by car. The concert was just BRILLIANT, i loved every song of hers and she is the one of the most kindhearted people i ever met, as you could recognize just from the way she talked about why she wrote her songs, explaining some backgrounds. Did you know that she wrote the song "Across The Nile" after seeing the change that has been happening in Egypt on the TV? She said she was in tears to see people daring to go for that kind of revolution and grabbed her guitar and wrote the song. Do i need to say anything more...?

All roads lead to Rome...so did mine

So...it has been a while since I have been to my favourite city in the world - Rome. But i took the opportunity this year and went there again - with my mother as company. It has been fantastic! Except for the weather. We had 39°C and burning hot sun...everyday. Even at night it was still about 32°C.... On our first day after the arrival day, we decided to meet a good old friend, Mario, again. My mother and her friend have met him everytime they have been in Rome. He is the caretaker of an extremely old and ancient church - Santa Pudenziana. He took us on a guided tour through the church: the whole church. That includes a part that tourists are not allowed to see: the excavation site underneath the church. We got some helmets and a flashlight and he was explaining all the old, well-preserved rooms 9 feet underground. The mosaics and walls are dated to about 160 before Christ. For history junkies just like me this is pure heaven...
Afterwards we went to see the Colloseum, at least from the outside and Circo Massimo - the place i was most curious about! It was great to see it and imagine how they had such big chariot races in there.
We spend all of our evenings on Piazza di Spagna, on the spanish steps ... THE meeting place for tourists in Rome. You seriously cannot go there without getting to know anyone. We met two ladies from Canada who were really lovely. Also, we always brought our bottle of wine and just enjoyed the athmosphere :-)
The Vatican is something you just can't miss when in Rome. It was my second time there but the architecture of the place amazes me again and again. And suprisingly, after a funny chat with the swiss guard (YES THEY CAN BE FUNNY!) i was even at an audiance with the pope. There were about 1000 people and he held a speech. That was quite unexpected...
Very close to the Vatican you can find a place that every Illuminati fan will instantly recognize: Castel Sant'Angelo..you get a very great view from the top of it by the way...
Next step on the Illuminati tour would be PANTHEON, one of the oldest and possibly the best preserved building in Rome.
On our last day in Rome (as for the hot weather and also my feet stop fulfilling their job in making me my body walk) we went to Lido, a seaside town 30 minutes from Rome. We took the train, which was filled by a kindergarten group singing Italian "The Lion King" songs, i even sang along sometimes. One of the moments where all you think is : weeeeeird.
And on the last evening... well..the last evening...what shall i say. I was at the biggest fan party in Italy to watch the Germany: Italy Eurocup match. So far so good. But i was wearing a Germany shirt. In a group of about 10-15 Germans we were amongst THOUSANDS of Italy and guess what..they had 2 reasons to celebrate...2 goals...we had none. And it's not like they were friendly towards us, nope...they made fun of us. I swear this was just one of the worst moments ever. Never again will i see a football match in Italy. NEVER. ;)
But except for that thursday night in Rome...it was an epic holiday again...

News from the outernet

Wow, what a life. Now i haven't been very busy on here recently but that comes with the fact that i have been moving to Erfurt now (finally) , haven't had Internet for a month or two and i have indeed been quite busy (except for the car accident week). There is just so much going on in my life right now but all in all i can say that i am the still the happiest bunch of energy ever. This life is crazy. I still have to deal with the fact i am going to ROME on monday. The day i come back, i am basically rushing home just to go back on the road again to an AMY MACDONALD concert in Fulda. And if i am lucky and the magic will continue, i am seeing my country, Germany, in the final of the European Championship. Germany is going completely nuts these days, you see flags all over, we are having massive soccer broadcasting parties and motorcades on the street after they win. And oh do they win. We're having a very strong team again and it is no secret that my crush on German coach Joachim Löw is just as strong ;-) I don't have anything particular to post about so i'll just put up some recent pictures of things that happened in my life these past two months. Enjoy and see you again after Rome.
